In 2010 the Hebridean Celtic Festival announced the inauguration of its very own 'Hall of Fame' to mark its 15th anniversary.

HebCelt has won a number of awards and plaudits over the years, ranging from being MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Event of the Year, to the description by the Daily Telegraph as one of the top festivals in the UK. They felt that it was time to recognise some of the musicians, events and shows that have helped to bring the festival its success.

To launch the 'Hall of Fame' three artists were inducted that have thrilled audiences at the festival and embody the mixture of music, talent and excitement that are enjoyed as HebCelts. The first inductees, who also act as Ambassadors for the festival by taking it to current and new audiences, were: Runrig, Julie Fowlis, and the Peatbog Faeries.

Calum Macdonald of Runrig said: "The HebCelt is special - it's so good to see a festival of this calibre rooted in the heart of the Gaidhealtachd. We are honoured to have been asked to act as their ambassadors."

Julie Fowlis said: "Being from the Outer Hebrides I have always been particularly excited about playing at the HebCelt Festival. To be inducted into their Hall of Fame as an ambassador and for recognition of my performances there is an honour. I look forward to spreading the message that this is a great festival."

Peter Morrison of the Peatbog Faeries said: "It is an honour to be involved with HebCelt in such a way. It is excellent news to be selected and we're proud to be one of the first three inductees for the Hall of Fame."

We thank them for their superb support in the past and look forward to many new enjoyable experiences to come in the future.
