Hebridean Celtic Festival Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame 2011

Imelda May

Public voting has seen two women artistes selected to join the Hebridean Celtic Festival's Hall of Fame in 2011. Irish songstress Imelda May has won Best Newcomer to the Main Stage, whilst Jane Hepburn beat a host of Hebridean-born talent to win Best Local Performer.

The winners were selected by public vote via the festival's website, and topped strong fields. Imelda May came out on top of Oojami; The Wilders; Mauvais Sort; Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds; and Treacherous Orchestra.

Jane Hepburn

Jane Hepburn won despite competition from Face the West, Catriona Watt, Alasdair White, Iain Morrison, Calum Alex MacMillan, Norrie Maciver and Jane Hepburn.

Jane Hepburn said: "It was an honour in itself to be nominated for Best Local Performer by Hebcelt's Hall of Fame, alongside artists that I've always looked up to. To then win is unbelievable!"
